ICAD
ICAD actuators for direct control of ICM/ICMTSmotorized valves and CVE pilot valve.ICAD actuator can be controlled in multipleways:• Using the following signals:◦ 0 – 20 mA◦ 4 – 20 mA◦ 0 – 10 V◦ 2 – 10 V• By a digital input (on-off)• Via data communication:◦ Modbus RTU (RS485)◦ Modbus TCP/IP (Ethernet)Valve opening can be manually controlled withICAD actuator. The actuators ICAD 600B and 1200B aredesigned for ICM valves and CVE pilot. Theactuator type 600B-TS is dedicated specificallyfor ICMTS valves.New design of flange connection for magnetcoupling with ICM and ICMTS valves. ICAD Bseries and the new mounting design formagnet coupling is 100% backwardscompatible with previous ICAD generation.ICAD B incorporates an advanced MMI (ManMachine Interface) display with descriptive textand Icons, which gives the user a very intuitive, advanced and flexible set up procedure thatcan meet different applications.
Features and benefits
- Specifically designed for ICM and ICMTS valves
- Advanced and high speed Digital Stepper Motor Technology with additional micro steps to provide more precise control
- High contrast LCD display and user friendly navigation keyboard. Valve opening degree can be observed continuously
- Can easily be configured to different applications on-site. (change speed, ON/OFF, modulating valve) and Data connection via RS485 or Ethernet
- In addition to the onboard display, all configuration and readings from ICAD B actuators can be performed viaBluetooth (using Coolconfig mobile app) or via data communication
- Modulating or ON/OFF operation, Multiple speed selection during operation, Logging of all events, warnings and alarms and Password protection
- Multiple control options: Analog signals (0–20 mA, 4–20 mA, 0–10 V, 2–10 V), digital signal (On-o) and datacommunication (RS485 & Ethernet)
- Position feedback: Signals ( 0–20 mA , 4–20 mA) and Data communication (Rs485 & Ethernet) and 3 digital ON/OFF feedback
- Resolution: 20 micron/step (0.02 mm stroke pr. step) and Auto Calibration
- In the event of a power failure, multiple fail safe options are possible. During power failure, ICAD can be selectedto:

Unmatched reliability
The ICAD B is designed to offer reliable performance for a wide range of applications. Its mounting mechanism features fully hermetic coupling between the ICAD and ICM, which prevents humidity or moisture from penetrating the seal. The coupling does not require any grease or additional materials, so no maintenance or cleaning are required. The new design has also been thoroughly tested and validated in the lab and in the field, and has delivered trouble-free, positive results every time.
Efficient installation and set-up
The ICAD B includes several smart software features that simplify installation and, configuration.
- Use the smartphone app’s set up wizard to quickly install and configure the ICAD B
- Simple mounting design with only two screws
- Troubleshoot and address system issues via the smartphone app wireless connectivity
Making the most of digital connectivity
The ICAD B offers three access methods: directly on the valve using the display panel; wirelessly via the smartphone app; and on a remote interface via data communication. You can choose between two data communication options: Modbus RTU over RS485 and Modbus TCP IP over Ethernet. You can fully integrate each ICAD B to the control system to handle set up, adjust parameters and monitor and control the system remotely.
Additional Features & Benefits
- Password-protected display panel with intuitive navigation
- All menus and parameters are accessible via the smartphone app and data communication
- Status light provides visible notification of system status
- Two-screw mounting design and 360° coupling positioning enable easier mounting
- Operational logic enhancements (torque monitoring, Micro steps) improve performance and prevent errors
- 100% backwards-compatibility with all ICM/ICMTS valves

CoolConfig
The CoolConfig tool allows the project engineer to generate the settings for the ICAD B offline, and hand over the file to the commissioning engineer at the appropriate time for the installation on one or multiple ICAD B.
