Akva Therm 28 (Thermostatic)

Domestic hot water unit for instantaneous domestic hot water production, designed for use in district heating systems.Supplied as a wall-mounted solution and fully insulated in accordance with DS 452, including pipe insulation and an insulated cover.Available with either self-acting or automatic control of the domestic hot water temperature.

Application
Akva Therm 28 can be used directly in district heating systems. The domestic hot water unit has sufficient capacity to supply a property with 29 to 58 apartments or a smaller commercial building/sports facility with shower facilities for up to 120 people.

Description
The domestic hot water unit includes an insulated, brazed plate heat exchanger for domestic hot water production, a thermostat/controller or Danfoss ECL 110 automatic controller for domestic hot water regulation, shut-off valves, a thermometer, a balancing valve, an energy-efficient pump, a strainer, a balancing valve on the circulation line, and a check valve on the cold water inlet. Alternatively, it can be supplied with a Danfoss ECL 310 automatic controller. Akva Therm 28 is also available as a plate heat exchanger solution with Danfoss ECL 310 automatic control.

Domestic Hot Water Heat Exchanger
The unit is based on a high-efficiency plate heat exchanger with optimal cooling of the district heating water. Akva Therm 28 is available with a copper-brazed heat exchanger. The domestic hot water temperature is controlled either by a thermostat or by a Danfoss ECL 110 controller, alternatively ECL 310.

Domestic Hot Water Circulation
The domestic hot water unit is supplied as standard with connections for domestic hot water circulation and is equipped with an energy-efficient pump, check valve, and balancing valve. The pump, balancing valve, and check valve are pre-mounted on the circulation line with the flow direction towards the water heater. The domestic hot water unit must always be connected to a domestic hot water circulation system. If no circulation system is available in the building installation, an internal circulation loop must be established in the plant room to ensure continuous flow on the secondary side of the water heater. Domestic hot water systems with circulation provide hot water at the tapping point without waiting time and without water wastage. This ensures optimum comfort and good district heating economy.

Service- and Installation-Friendly
A practical pipe arrangement and compact assembly of the components make the domestic hot water unit easy to service and install. Installation is quick and simple. The water heater is wall-mounted, and all connection points are positioned at a distance from the wall, making it possible to achieve neat pipework.
